Privacy policy

Last updated: 7 October 2026

This policy covers usharik.dev and the guitar chord site chords.usharik.dev. Both are run by Aleksei Usharovskii (Alex Usharovski), a sole trader in the Czech Republic, IČO 17943744, registered office Netovice 47, 274 01 Slaný, who is responsible for the data described here. My Android apps have their own privacy policies, linked from each app's page on this site. Write to me at aleks.usharik@gmail.com, or reach me on LinkedIn or GitHub.

The short version

What is processed when you visit

To deliver the pages, the hosting providers process your IP address, your browser's user agent and the address you open: Cloudflare for usharik.dev and Deno Deploy (Deno Land Inc.) for chords.usharik.dev. The chord site counts requests per IP address in memory to stop scripts from overloading it; the address is not written anywhere and is forgotten within minutes.

Feedback on the 3D hand

If you rate the 3D hand or write a comment, the site stores: the chord and its frets and fingers, your vote, your comment, the camera angle, the time, the version of the hand model and a random identifier of your browser. The identifier is generated in your browser and only tells repeated votes apart; it is not linked to your name or address. The IP address is not stored. Please do not put personal details in the comment. Feedback is kept in Deno KV while it is useful for improving the hand model.

What stays in your browser

The chord site keeps in your browser's local storage: your saved chords (“My chords”) with their notes, the interface language, the fretboard view and the random identifier for feedback. None of this is sent to me, except the identifier together with feedback. Clearing the site's data in your browser removes it.

Advertising: Google AdSense

The home page and the article pages of usharik.dev and the “About the author” page of the chord site show ads from Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on those visits.

You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings, and out of other vendors' cookies at aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.eu. How Google uses data from sites that show its ads: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Google asks for your consent before using cookies for personalised ads.

Other services

Legal basis and your rights

Under the GDPR, delivering and protecting the sites rests on legitimate interest, personalised ads on your consent, and feedback on your choice to send it. You have the right to ask what data about you is held, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object. To have your feedback deleted, tell me roughly when you sent it and for which chord. You may also complain to the Czech data protection authority, ÚOOÚ.

Children

The sites are not directed at children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect their data.
