Privacy policy: Czech Grammar: Declension Quiz
Last updated: 19 October 2026
This policy describes how the Android app Czech Grammar: Declension Quiz (package com.usharik.app, “the App”) handles information. The App is published by Aleksei Usharovskii (Alex Usharovski), a sole trader in the Czech Republic, IČO 17943744, registered office Netovice 47, 274 01 Slaný, who is the controller of the data described here. Write to me at aleks.usharik@gmail.com.
The short version
- No account and no registration. Your progress, mistakes, settings and streak stay on your device.
- The App shows ads from Google AdMob. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland it first asks for your consent through Google’s consent form, and you can change your choice later.
- Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics from Google tell me how the App is used and why it crashes.
- The optional purchase that removes ads is handled by Google Play; I never see your payment details.
- I do not sell personal data and do not run any server of my own.
1. Data stored on your device
The App keeps in its private storage on your device: your settings (interface language, word class, gender filter, animation, reminders), quiz statistics and points, your daily goal and streak, the words you got wrong, the last word shown, whether ads were removed, and when the review and support prompts were last shown. Reminders are planned on the device from this data; no server sends them. This data is not sent to me. If Android backup is turned on in your device settings, it may be included in your Google backup.
2. Advertising (Google AdMob) and your consent
The App shows banner ads and occasional full-screen ads between quiz rounds from Google AdMob. When an ad is requested or shown, Google and its partners may process your device’s advertising ID, IP address and the approximate location derived from it, device and app information, and your interactions with the ad, under the Google advertising policies and the Google Privacy Policy.
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland the App uses Google’s User Messaging Platform, a consent management platform certified under the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework. Before any ad is requested it asks whether Google and its partners may use your data for personalised ads and the other listed purposes. You can accept, decline or choose purposes one by one; if you decline, you may still see non-personalised ads. To change your choice, open About → Ad privacy settings in the App. Your choice is stored on your device.
Everywhere you can reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalised ads in Android settings (Privacy → Ads). After you buy ad removal, the App requests no more ads.
3. Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics
- Firebase Analytics receives an app-instance identifier, device model, OS version, the approximate country derived from your IP address, and events about using the App: automatic events such as the first launch, sessions and screens, and my own events such as the Czech words you practise and your answers, the buttons and settings you use, reminders shown, the daily goal reached and the outcome of a purchase. The App turns off the collection of the advertising ID by Analytics.
- Firebase Crashlytics receives crash reports: the stack trace, device model, OS version, app version and an installation identifier.
I use this data only to understand how the App is used, to improve the exercises and to fix bugs. Google processes it for me under the Firebase Data Processing Terms. The data is linked to an identifier of your installation, not to your name; reinstalling the App or clearing its data gives it a new identifier.
4. Google Play
The App is distributed through Google Play. The one-time purchase that removes ads goes through Google Play Billing: Google handles the payment, and the App only learns whether the purchase is active. The App may also show Google Play’s rating dialog. Google Play may collect information about installs, updates and app performance under the Google Privacy Policy.
5. Permissions
- Internet: for ads, consent, analytics, crash reports and purchases. The quizzes themselves work offline.
- Notifications (Android 13 and later): for practice reminders. It is optional; the App works fully without it.
- Vibration: short feedback on right and wrong answers.
- Advertising ID: added by the AdMob SDK, see section 2.
The App does not access your contacts, location, camera, microphone, photos or files.
6. Legal bases, retention and deletion
Personalised ads in the regions listed in section 2 rely on your consent. Analytics, crash reports and non-personalised ads rely on my legitimate interest in keeping a free app working, improving it and paying for its development. Google keeps analytics data according to the retention setting of the App’s Firebase project and starts deleting crash reports 90 days after they are collected. Data on your device stays until you clear the App’s data or uninstall it. For anything you cannot delete yourself, write to me.
7. Children
The App is a language-learning tool for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. I do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data through the App, write to me and I will help remove it.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example in the EEA, the United Kingdom, Switzerland or California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, to data portability and to withdraw consent at any time. Write to me and I will answer within the period required by law. You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection authority; in the Czech Republic it is the Office for Personal Data Protection (uoou.gov.cz).
9. Changes
I may update this policy when the App or the law changes. The current version is always on this page; the date at the top shows the latest revision.
